OMR ROAD

• Old Mahabalipuram Road, currently known as Rajiv Gandhi Salai is a prime road connecting two main junctions in Chennai. It was also known as OMR or IT/ITES Corridor because of many IT companies in the stretch.The road is a link between Madhya Kailash temple in Adyar at one side with East Coast Road via Mahabalipuram.
• OMR was chosen as IT corridor mainly due to the availability of land parcel,proximity to residential clusters (velachery ,Adyar,Thiruvanmiyur) international airport and developed social infrastructure
• OMR refers to the 20km stretch between madhay kailash junction and siruseri till kelambakkam junction.
